History

Jain Social Group of New Jersey was formed in the Year 2007. The founder president Mr. Nitin Shah has been planning to form the Jain Social Group since the Year 2002. Mr. Rajendra Vora of JSG of Beverly Hills, was very motivational and supportive of starting the Group in the state of New Jersey. The first committee was formed with the support of Dr. Pradip Shah (Vice President), Mr. Suresh Vadhar (Secretary) and Mr. Mahendra Shah (Treasurer). The first event was launched in July 2007 with 25 family members.

We were fortunate to inaugurate the ceremony in November 2007, in the presence of Mr. Rajendra Vora, Franklin Township Mayor Mr. Brian Levine, Councilman Dr. Sudhanshu Rao, and with best wishes from Member of Congress Mr. Frank Pallon, and Mayor of Edison Township Mr. Jun H. Choy. Jain Center of NJ President and EC members attended the ceremony.

During July 2008, President of JSGIF Mr. Kiranbhai and his wife Mrs. Kalpanaben Doshi during their visits to USA presented charter to our group and Mrs. Harshaben Shah, International chair person from Kuwait coordinated the event and it was our privilege to have Mr. Dilip Shah, President of JAINA as a chief guest.

Jain Social Group of New Jersey adopted the Constitution of their parent organization as their operating guidelines. The objective of the group is to bring all Jains together for future generations and create a social platform. This platform will create a link for our children to promote values under the same community and a same religion.

The hard work and contributions of the current committee members help the group for organizing successful programs. This was not possible without the contribution of the families of the EC Committee. We thank Mr. Kishore Mehta and Mr. Abhay Kothari of JSG New York for their ongoing support. We thank Mr. Jitendra Vakani for helping us to register with the state of NJ. We have been moved from infancy to the toddler stage with the help of our members and the committee.
